Process development at Fortum
Fortum have selected competence from LearningWell to processdevelopment and design. The assignment comprises design, development and implementation of critical business processes. Processes supporting new exciting products and services under development and launch.
Fortum i a fantastic customer and is reinforcing LearningWells already strong position in the energy sector. With customer like the Swedish nuclear power industry, Svenska Kraftnät running the national electrical grid and now Fortum, generating, selling and distributing electricity and heat, LearningWell has positioned as a supplier with knowledge and talent throughout the valuechain in this sector.
Fortum is a leading energy company in the Nordic countries and other parts of the Baltic Rim area. Fortums activities cover the generation, distribution and sale of electricity and heat as well as the operation and maintenance of power plants. Fortums sales during 2006 was 4,49 MEUR with over 8000 employees. Customer base is 1,5 million electricity customers.
First in the world !
Throughout the world there are ongoing upgrading projects to version 5.8 of Plateau´s LMS. KSU AB made the choice to carry out this upgrade and selected LearningWell for the assignment. To the standard LMS-system LearningWell have developed an industry specific adaption , called Plateau XT.
This project comprices both upgrade of the standard system, necessary changes in Plateau XT and changes affecting the database (Oracle). The system was in operation 20th of April, 11.00 AM, which means that it is the first 5.8 installation in the world up and running. Plateau LMS is a part of Plateau Talent Management.

Complex integration in operation
LearningWell have with great success delivered a communication bridge between ABB:s Industrial ITSystem 800xA and a fullscale nuclear power plant simulator, to KSU AB.
The bridge handles, in realtime, large amounts of data which is translated between, in one end, OPCDA and in the other end a format suitable for the simulator. The technology will be reused in a second simulator upgrade, including differencies between operating systems (Windows - Unix) which must be bridged.
Great interest in San Diego
LearningWells MD Peter Karlsson invited as speaker at PowerPlantSim'07 in San Diego experienced a great interest in RDV and visualisation of processcalculation models. The simulator conference attracts an interested audience from the whole world. Attention was drawn to LearningWell and RDV from a wide range of the conference audience, from several continents.

LearningWell the choice of SSAB
LearningWell have throughout the years been involved i several strategic IT-projects at SSAB. Now two exciting projects affecting level2 and level3 systems at SSAB are starting. This gives LearningWell the opportunity to participate in projects developing both process close systems as well as administrative systems. The development environments consists of .NET C# and .NET C# together with Delphi.
Both assigments proves SSAB:s trust in LearningWells business knowledge and their good experience from previously delivered IT-solutions.
SSAB Oxelösund is a member of the SSAB Svenskt Stål AB Group and is the biggest Nordic manufacturer of heavy steel plate. The company is also a world leader in the specialist field of quenched and tempered steels, and produces well-known brand names such as HARDOX and WELDOX. SSAB Oxelösund is the only steelworks in Sweden to have an entire production line stretching from iron ore to finished plate in thicknesses of 3-155 mm and widths of up to 3,500 mm. They produce around 632 000 tonnes of heavy plate (2005), and 90 percent of the production is exported.
RDV advancing
After several successful and strategic RDV deals, both in Sweden and in the United States, LearningWell takes the next step in the development of RDV. The project of the client server version of RDV is ongoing and the goal is to have a product ready during this spring.
As a part of the strong development of RDV, LearningWell is invited as presenters of RDV to an initiated public at one of the industry's most important exhibitions in San Diego, United States, 19/2-22/2-2007, PowerPlantSim'07 Conference with participants from the whole world..
FPL purchases RDV
FPL purchases a RDV licens of LearningWells visualisation tool RDV for Relap5 R/T. It will be used at the nuclear power plant of Seabrook Station.

Successful integration of Ringhals 3 simulator
After 4 months at the plant of Ringhals, the simulator is handed over to the customer for course development and training. LearningWell consultants as central participants in the project have secured that the R3-simulator have the upgraded models on both primary and secondary side integrated and tested. The assignment has been carried out in the full scale simulator in Videbergsborg at Ringhals since 2006-07-30. The next phase of the project is to incorporate models for the upgrade of the management system for 113.5% power production.
Breakthrough in United States with RDV
SAIC purchases two RDV licenses of LearningWells visualisation tool RDV for Relap5 R/T. It will be used in two of SAIC simulator projects in the United States.

Agreement with KSU AB on three RDV installations
LearningWell has made an agreement with KSU AB on three licenses and installation of RDV for Relap5 R/T. They will be used for the simulators in Ringhals 3, Forsmark 1 and Oskarshamn 2
The interest and expectation from KSU has been there since the development started early 2006. This agreement proves that KSUs: view is that RDV has a great potential to become an important tool for fault detection, training and development of training material, core business of KSU.
